Frutto di un biennio di ricerca condotto presso l’Università “La Sapienza” di Roma, il presente saggio ha come oggetto il contributo al riconoscimento e alla protezione del Diritto Umano alla Città in circostanze di conflitto. I casi studio presi in esame riguardano i conflitti nei territori del Caucaso Meridionale e della Regione Balcanica.

The result of two years of research conducted at “La Sapienza” University of Rome, this essay aims to contribute to the recognition and protection of the Human Right to the City in circumstances of conflict. The case studies examined concern conflicts in the territories of the Southern Caucasus and the Balkan Region.
Since 2020 Sandro Di Gangi has worked on the research Project entitled HRC – CUC Human Right to The City in Circumstances of Urban Conflict. Since 2021 he has been conducting research activities in the territories of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the District of Brčko and in the Southern Caucasus, Province of Shirak in Armenia, City of Gyumri. Between 2001 and 2010 he conducted research in the field of the History of Italian Colonial Planning in East Africa. After graduating with a degree in Architecture (1998), from the University of Palermo, he has earned two Masters degrees: Geopolitics and Global Security (2021) and International Protection of Human Rights “Maria Rita Saulle” (2022) from the University of Rome, “La Sapienza”.
